Had a very vivid dream last night

Background: The Pesah debate has begun in my family (who’s hosting, where, etc.). One variable in my life is that a friend has recently moved to a local army base (she’s a commander) and asked if I might be around to help her host a Seder on base, at least for first night. While she’s flying to her family for second night, I prefer to keep the chag; if I helped her with first night I’d stay in my area for second night. However, so far I haven’t seen any community seders be advertised. So my inner dialogue is between going home for both nights, or staying here and helping out for first night and scrambling for second.

The dream (as much as I can remember at this point) included two friends – a couple – being put in jail. I don’t recall why they were arrested, but they were. The jail reminded me of a moderate-security prison I toured a few years ago in Arizona. I visited them, and we got on the topic of Pesah and how they were going to attend a Seder in prison. I offered to lead a Seder hosted at the prison, by permission of the warden (I don’t recall ever seeing the warden’s face, but I imagine he was reminiscent of Warden Norton).

Scene slide to: we are all walking out of the prison, including my incarcerated friends, and end up in a cabin in the woods. My friends are sitting, handcuffed, on a couch along one wall, and I am standing next to them. Some other folks, prisoners and guards, are seated around a table in the middle of the dark room. Again we are discussing having a Seder.

By the end of the dream I believe the Seder was planned and everyone agreed on it.

If only Joseph where here! But also, I like leading seders and maybe this dream just reinforced that notion.
