The rabbi’s son at my university’s small chabad is having his bar mitzvah this Sunday afternoon, and while I had my bar mitzvah myself in a reform community, I’ve never been a part of an orthodox congregation before. What can I expect? I’ve never been too familiar with orthodox traditions and I’m not sure how they differ from my reform synagogue. I’m afraid of embarrassing myself.
