Even madness has it’s place (1 Samuel 21:14)

A beautiful excerpt from Midrash Shocher Tov. Found in Artscroll’s Rubin Edition, “The Prophets: Samuel”.

The context is when David feigned madness before King Achish of Gath in Philistia, after being on the run and hiding from King Saul.

Even madness, in a way, can be a gift from God.
