Embroidering kippahs?

Hi! I am not Jewish, which is why I’m posting this question here. I’m involved at the Chabad in my university area, and a Jewish friend mentioned that a current embroidery project of mine looked as though I was embroidering a kippah. Is this something I would be able to do as gifts for Jewish male friends as a Gentile? I usually give baked goods as gifts, but since meeting Orthodox and Hasidic Jews and learning about kosher food laws, I don’t do that anymore.
