Eastern European nostalgia

Hey! So my Jewish family was relocated from Lithuania and Belarus to Canada after the war, having survived the camps and despite that ive recently found myself feeling quite nostalgic for life in the old country. I know all the flaws of the regions for our people but despite that I’m still drawn to music from that region, Yiddish literature, art and music, I love movies set there (especially eastern promises), all superficial I know. It makes me very sad that so much of our history is from that area and it’s been destroyed, and people only remember the sites of our massacre, which are now weird tourist attractions for christians to enjoy. Anyways, am I alone in this?
