Due to Reddit’s new AI data licensing…

I’m gonna be using Mass Delete to nuke my Reddit posting history – given the nature of AI learning, and the flexibility of the conversations I’ve had on this sub, I don’t feel comfortable letting it use ‘facts’ we’ve spoken about as training that could lead it to incorrect answers about things.

Once that’s done, I’ll be essentially starting this account from scratch again, being much more careful about how I word my posts, knowing that they’ll be fed to an AI.

So, why am I mentioning it in a post here – almost in the style of those cringey “goodbye, Facebook” posts?

Over the past couple of years, a few people here on r/Judaism have mentioned that they’ve saved certain comments or posts for future reference.

I wanted to give a fair opportunity for those people to save those comments offline (eg. copy and paste or screenshot), before they’re gone forever. I don’t remember who, or which comments, so figured posting on the main sub would be the easiest way to go about it.

I also don’t think I’m that important to be making a post all for myself, not by a long shot. I wouldn’t be surprised if other consistent contributors to the sub are also taking similar actions, and figured it’d be a good wakeup call for people to save the content they want from important threads, in general.

Anyway, wishing you all a Shabbat Shalom, and this post will disappear on Sunday, Australian time 🙂
