Does the Torah forbid eating whole live animals or specifically only their limbs?

I previously posted a link to a video taken from China of an individual eating a live fish. I was told it’s irrelevant and that’s a fair point — it’s better not to watch the video but it’s as described — the thing is alive as people eat it.

It made me wonder: does this violate halacha or is it mamash just eating a limb from a life animal?

FWIW I abhor this and would never even consider eating a live animal even if it were kosher. But seeing this video did make me wonder where it stood with halacha.
