I am writing a paper on this topic and some commonly cited passages are:
Psalm 82:4 Release/Rescue the poor and the needy; save [them] from the hands of [the] wicked.
Proverbs 24:11 11 If you refrain from rescuing those taken to death and those on the verge of being slain: 12 will you say, “Behold, we did not know this”? Is it not so that He Who counts hearts understands, and He Who guards your soul knows, and He will requite a man according to his deed?
And the Exodus passage about striking a thief in the night and killing him has no blood guiltness and the call to “do justice” from certain passages. What are your thoughts on this topic?
