I know the question might sound ridiculous, since the Torah is over 3000 years old. Nonetheless, I thought I’d ask anyway to see if Judaism can offer any wisdom here. (Also sorry if this has been asked before).
Anyway, some people would say watching movies or playing video games is fine in moderation, whereas others might say these things are a waste of time, or are outright harmful. Here’s my question broken down into 3 parts:
- Have any rabbis spoken about this topic?
- Is there any harm in engaging with things that are not real, but are false representations of reality?
- Do these activities drain our spiritual energy or something to that effect? (Or is that just woo woo?)
(Thanks to those who take the time to read/answer this.)
