does honoring thy mother and father extend to letting them break mitzvot?

my mother tells me often that she wants to get a christmas tree this year, or that she wants to buy a buddah statue for our garden. usually for the asthetic or vibes. Of course this falls into idolotry i’m sure, and I usually have to talk her out of it, but am I breaking the mitzvah of honoring my parents by doing this? should i just be letting her do what she wants to? is it better to break this mitzvah to make sure she doesn’t break what i think would be a worse mitzvah? what do people think?
