Does ginger beer need a hechsher?

I’ve got ginger beer and realized it doesn’t have a hechsher, but does it need? I see it listed in a Kosher wine website.

Also, while we’re on the topic, what’s the difference between the kashrus of scotch, whiskeys, vodkas, beers, gin, bourbon etc etc.
