Do you wear a magen david visibly?

This seems to be quite a rare practice. Have you noticed you’re treated differently when you wear it?
I have worn one visibly before and I got the sense that some people interpreted it as some sort of divisive racial statement. Just an intuition. I also walked past a couple of guys at the gym once while I wore it, and then I noticed the one tell the other in a whisper looking amused. I actually think they could have been jews though and thought that it was strange or silly to wear it openly
