I ask because I’m planning to marry my very wonderful jewish boyfriend, and we want to raise our children jewish, but he’s not very active in the religion himself and I’m atheist/agnostic currently.
In the research I’ve done you have to be very committed to the religion in order to convert, more than someone born into it would need to do.
I’m curious what the culture around that will be. I want to do the best I can to take it seriously but I also feel like it’d be wrong for me to impose a stricter experience of Judaism on my family than they would if it was just my husbands level of involvement.
