I had a conversation with a coworker and we got on the topic of Jewish food because her mom likes to drink manischewitz. I started telling her about my favorite Jewish foods, and throughout the conversation, she struggling to describe anything Jewish because it seemed like she believed that “Jewish” is a bad word. I told her that it’s not a bad word and she is welcome to use it to describe myself and other Jewish people or related Jewish things. She still seemed like she was uncomfortable to say it.
Do you ever meet people who are like this? How you respond to people like this?
