Do Jews see themselves as an ethnic group?

Is there a shared geo-historical consciousness unique to Jews? Or is it just a common faith system. If the former, is it integrated into the theology? And how so? Curious as a Hindu. Btw beware of my people and their bloodlust online lol. Their support for Israel shouldn’t mean much I doubt they understand you.

Edit: welp, after realizing that Jews are grateful to Hindus for not persecuting them I see the bond. It’s a little sad that something obvious as not killing ppl for fun makes India “unique” historically, speaking to the state of affairs of other religious groups and ethnicities. As Hindus we just always saw you as one of the million ethnicities in India who have their own customs lol. Nbd
