Anti-circumcision does not equate to anti-Semitism. Rather, it’s a movement to reform Judaism from its past (and technically modern) unsavory ways. So many traditions are no longer followed in Judaism—why must genitaI mutiIation continue? The answer is, it doesn’t need to continue. You don’t need to excise the most sensitive part of your son’s body to put him in a covenant with God, that’s absurd. Just because something was okay in the past doesn’t make it okay in the present, and history can back this assertion time and time again. Instead of becoming defensive or going into denial, truly consider how immoral forced genitaI cutting really is. There are so many reasons why the practice is wrong, but it’s hard to communicate these reasons to the unwilling. I ask you to be open to thought and introspection. Thank you.
