I’m not Jewish but I was talking with a Muslim and she was saying how the Quran was preserved through oral tradition. I brought up the Talmud because that was oral tradition too (I think). But she said it didn’t matter because that’s not the Torah. So I’m just curious what Jews would say about that. I wanted to defend Jews but I’m not very knowledgeable.
Did Jews ever memorize the Torah?
