Converts, what motivated/motivates your conversion?

Conversion is an especially odd topic for Jews. Yeah, we’re a religious group, but more so a “people” or a tribe (in my experience).

Whether you’ve gone through conversion, are in the process, or are considering, I’m curious about your experience.

  1. What motivated you to convert?
  2. What denomination did you convert through and what impacted this choice?
  3. To what extent do you feel part of the tribe? How do you not?
  4. How do you feel about gaining “right of return” to Israel by converting?
  5. What’s something that people who haven’t converted (gentiles or born Jews) are unlikely to understand/be aware of?
