Conversion: thoughts on undergoing an orthodox conversion regardless of the denomination you wish to practice?

I have heard that it’s always best to do an Orthodox conversion because these are as close to being universally accepted as conversions can be. Conservative and Reform communities will recognize these conversions, but not the other way around. As a woman, this is something I care about because my status as a Jew will influence those of my future children.

However, it seems deceitful to me to go through a long conversion process only to “jump ship” at the end and join a different denomination.

What are your thoughts? 🙂
