Choosing a Denomination

Does the denomination you choose really matter? From what I’ve read online in order to become Jewish all you need to do is get circumcised, appear in front of a beth din, accept and maintain all of the mitzvahs, and emerge in the mikvah. I know that Orthodox Jews don’t accept reform conversions, but why? If the person genuinely studied, did all the requirements for conversion, and sincerely wants to be Jewish but just did it under other denominations, why wouldn’t they be considered Jews?
