Chasidishe Geocentrism- How common is it?

Growing up adjacent to Chabad-Lubavitch, I’ve heard many interesting things about the rebbe’s stances on issues as expressed through his sichos and letters he wrote. Today, after visiting a certain subreddit which will remain nameless, I remembered one that I thought was pretty out there: Geocentrism.

When I was around 13 or 14 I was at some farbrengen and for whatever reason that I can’t remember, a bachur and I started talking astronomy. And then he said the sun goes around the earth. And that the rebbe was a proponent of this idea. Being a young man not yet used to making developed arguments and having no scientific background whatsoever, I didn’t challenge him. But there was great bewilderment, which I knew he noticed.

My question is: How common is such a view in Judaism? Is it unique to Chabad, or is it more widespread within the chasidish world?
