Today is Thanksgiving Day in Canada.
Many of the “rituals” behind Canadian Thanksgiving are the same as for American Thanksgiving (family turkey dinners), but Thanksgiving is not nearly as big a deal in Canada as it is in the USA, and in any case it has stronger Anglo-Protestant undertones here than it does in the States.
My impression is that most Canadian Jews do not really “do” Thanksgiving. Even growing up in a minimally observant home, we didn’t really acknowledge it.
I am curious to know about the experiences of my fellow Canadian Jews (there are a few of us here…)
