Can i say L’chayim even if I’m not Jewish myself?

So a few years ago back in uni I went drinking with some classmates after finishing a bitch of a project and one of them was Jewish, at one point we were cheering for whatever reason and he cheered L’chayim which to me sounded cool. When I looked up what it meant the cheer became even cooler to me.

But me not wanting to be disrespectful ive never actually said it. So is it OK for me to say the cheer or should I not?
