I recently found out that Israel does a free birthright trip to young adult Jews in the US. My paternal grandmother is Jewish, but my dad is Christian (still technically an ethnic Jew) Would that make me eligible, or did my dad have to be a practicing Jew when I was born for him to count as a Jewish parent?
