I’m a 25 year old man from the Midwest and was raised a Catholic (no longer practicing). I don’t know much about my family ancestry except that my fathers side has some significant Jewish heritage, and being here in the Midwest we’re not really exposed to many people practicing Judaism. I heard about the birthright trip online and was curious if anyone on here has gone on it and what requirements you’d have to meet in order to do so. I doubt I qualify but am definitely curious to find out as planning a trip to Israel by myself would be quite the undertaking. I’m also curious if anyone knows of a good way to simply track down and learn more about their ancestors, specifically of Jewish decent.
Sincerely, a goy that would like to learn
