I’m told that Israelis “always have” Birkat Kohanim.
What does this mean? Every Shabat? Daily? Every single time they daven with a Minyan?
And what’s the reason that Birkat Kohanim is a rare (only on Yom Tov) event in the Diaspora?
I have to say that the rarity of Birkat Kohanim makes it seem exceedingly holy to me. I wept both times I heard it this Shavuot. At a time when so many wish me (and all Jews) dead, the words comfort me tremendously.
