How many people consider actually believing in God to be essential to calling themselves or others Jewish? If you were to marry a partner, and they had a Jewish mother or grew up in a Jewish household, but didn’t believe in God and considered themselves more culturally Jewish, would this be ok to you? Are there generally held sentiments about this related to what temple you go to?
