Being approached by strangers

Recently I was in the local supermarket. I was at the cashout when an elderly man approached me and asked if I was Jewish, like the hat and beard didn’t give it away.

With all the anti-Semitism going on, and the fact that I had my two small daughters with me, I was nervous to answer.

Cautiously I replied yes.

He then put his hand on my shoulder and said…

May G_d bless you, your family and your fellow Jewish people.

I’ve never had an experience like that, and there are not many Jewish people living my town. I can actually count them on one hand.
