I grew up in a small Southern Baptist town in KY and tried to hide the fact that I was Jewish, mainly for fear of antisemitism, which ultimately, I had to endure anyway because people knew my older sister who fully embraced being Jewish.
To make a long story short, I chose not to have a Bar-Mitzvah, which at the age of 42, saddens me. What would it mean if I were to have one now? Thoughts?
