I remember reading somewhere that the Torah was not just a book of laws and history, but something about the Torah pointed toward the future. There was a pithy academic word but I can’t find it or remember it, so I’m using the word prophetic.
My question is, how does one read narrative events—such as the calling of Abraham—in a “prophetic” sense? How is it that this story points toward the future?
Full disclosure, I am a Christian but trying to understand something I read from a Jewish source that I CANT FIND AND IT MAKES ME SO SAD.
Anyone got any idea what the hell I’m talking about?
