Are Kabbalah and the documentary hypothesis at all compatible?

Kabbalah teaches that the different names of G-d reflect different aspects of G-d, while the documentary hypothesis teaches that different names of G-d reflect different writers responsible for different parts of the Torah. I remember a secular Jewish man I went to university with mentioned he practiced Kabbalah, and also mentioned at another time he believed the “science” of the documentary hypothesis rather than believing the Torah was given directly by G-d to Moses on Mt. Sinai, but I didn’t know anything about Kabbalah back then so I saw no contradiction in this. Now I am wondering how the apparent gap in the two ideas is bridged?
