Any tips for improving/learning Biblical and prayerbook Hebrew as an adult?

I really want to level up my ability to read original sources and prayerbook Hebrew. I’m not a person who had a very high quality Jewish education in my youth, and I’ve pretty much exhausted the few Hebrew classes offered at my shul on a regular basis. I’d characterize my current level as … barely functional … and I want to be able to read original sources much more rapidly and fluidly without translation.

Has anyone gone through the process of deeply learning ancient Hebrew as an adult? I’m very willing to put in the work, but I’m confused by the vast array of online resources. Overall, it’s difficult to assess the quality of what I’m seeing. I would therefore very much appreciate any personal recommendations. Is an in-person tutor in my city a better way to go? Something else? Help!
