Am I wrong for celebrating Christmas with my Christian family?

If this has been posted a number of times someone let me know and I will delete it. If not this will be a short read.

So like the title says I have a very close friend of mine who is an orthodox jew going back as many generations as they can see. He is part of the reason I am on this journey now but we were talking yesterday about Christmas and my entire family is Christian so we celebrate Christmas with my grandparents. I didn’t want to step on any toes or really discuss that this isn’t necessarily my holiday anymore although they all already know.

However I got to thinking a couple days before Christmas and really the holiday has drifted so far from a religious occasion to more people gathering around a pine tree to unwrapp presents. Was I doing the wrong thing by celebrating?
