(According to orthodox judaism) is there anything wrong with getting a piercing? Rivka had a nose ring and earrings are allowed, so why is there controversy?

I understand tattoos but piercings are weird since earrings are allowed so like, why can’t a belly button piercing be allowed. I basically want to get a piercing on my lip but I want to make sure it’s allowed so that I can convince my parents lol.
