Pre-VC, how did most Jews get access to new business capital?

Considering the entrepreneurial tradition of the Jewish community.

Also, the sudden success of the Jewish community mid-1900s…was this because Jewish men finally got considered as white men, allowing Jewish men to raise capital, since white men get 70-80% of all new business funding?

Because for example the Latino community is now the most entrepreneurial community in America. They are at least 18% of the American population. But investors never give them enough money (2% of funds) to start huge businesses, so they’re not very successful yet.
