I’ve recently taken up an interest in Abrahamic religions, so I’ve started reading the so-called Abrahamic Triology. Currently I’m reading the Qur’an (it’s the most “relevant” book due to where I live) but after that I’ll delve into the OT and NT. For this reason I bought the New Oxford Annotated Bible (NRSV translation).
However, I have learned that the Tanakh is different than the OT. AFAIK the Tanakh translations use a single Hebrew source, and the chapters are ordered differently. For this reason I’m wondering if I should buy a separate book for learning about Judaism, for example the Jewish Study Bible. Particularly I’m curious about whether the commentary on New Oxford Annotated Bible skews towards Christianity.
