A women singing isn’t tznua?

For some context, I originally attended a congregation that styled itself as a blend of reconstructionist and renewal (although it was officially non-denominational) and then later in life attended a reform synagogue, so these things are still quite new to me.

I know in some orthodox communities it’s considered immodest for a man to hear a woman singing. I’m just curious to hear from people who follow this.

Is it primarily an Ashkenazi practice? How do you feel about women singing in groups? What do you cite to justify this practice?
