Dear Jewish Abbeys,
A girlfriend of mine is getting married at a synagogue that has a catering hall in it. Just receiving the invitation, the wedding “starts” at 7pm on a Saturday night in October. Shabbos ends at 7:05pm.
Also, the caterer provides only for other synagogues, but website says nothing more… no certifications… nothing even saying if they are Kosher. I will call them to confirm, but chances are they probably are not Kosher.
She knows we keep Shabbos (but live 45 minutes away) and Kosher. How do I politely tell her that we will be late and cannot eat the food, without sounding like I am snubbing her wedding?
I think I need to verbally tell her (not by text or on the RSVP).
