A little question about Jewish eschatology

I’m not a Christian, I don’t affiliate with religion for starters. I’ve been doing research on eschatology for a month now.

In Christianity they believe that the world is going to end in destruction in the near future even though it’s been 2000 years and nothing happened. I read that Jewish people do not believe in the NT so relevations is irrelevant to Jews. In the old testament there were scriptures referring to messiah’s return and I wonder if Jews think that God’s return is a future or past event?

I know a quick Google search can give me the answers I’m looking for, but there’s so many different opinions.
